I’m starting to get excited – our annual spring workshop and AGM is only three weeks away!
As part of this weekend your committee looks ahead and plans the training workshops for the coming year.
Since we last met in Christchurch, we have run;
- Two ‘cross-cultural communication’ workshops in Auckland and Christchurch, led by a cross-cultural training team of Gail Richards from the US, and our own Joe Harawira.
- Four ‘writing for the web 101’ courses in each of the main centres in partnership with National Services.
- And we listened to the feedback from last year’s workshop and have a great line up of speakers and examples from the field covering digital and social media applications in interpretation gathering to present to you in Auckland.
So what I want to know from you now is … what would YOU like to see on the training calendar for 2013-14?
Our ‘telling tales’ workshop on the basic principles of writing interpretation was very popular when it was run two years ago – is there interest in repeating that?
Is there enthusiasm for offering a stage two ‘writing for the web’ course?
Do we have any volunteers to resurrect our regional’ walk and talk’ style gatherings in the main centres or elsewhere?
Is there more that we can offer in the technology and digital media field?
What about something ‘trade-show’ based that covers new ways to produce a panel? New materials, new methods, new … well STUFF!
